In 2009, MobileWish Pocket Travel Assistant (PTA) earned top honors by winning the M-Content category at the Manthan Awards South Asia, held in New Delhi on December 18-19. The Manthan Awards, organized by the Digital Empowerment Foundation for over six years, focus on recognizing technology that makes a meaningful impact on people's lives. This prestigious event saw participation from 400 projects across 30 states and 8 South Asian countries, bringing together 1,000 delegates and champions. Sponsored by Nokia Siemens Networks, the Department of Information Technology (Government of India), and the National e-Governance Plan, the awards were supported by partners like The Wall Street Journal inside Mint, UNESCO, Intel, and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), among others. In the M-Content category, PTA outshone 12 shortlisted entries, including innovative projects from TCS, the State Bank of India, and Tactical Technologies India. The recognition highlighted the power of Adobe’s Flash Platform in mobile technology and its potential to serve the masses. The event provided a valuable opportunity to connect with innovators, developers, and thought leaders across South Asia, fostering the exchange of groundbreaking ideas.
